Jay’s Interview

My fantastic boyfriend Jay had an interview today, so I had the rare opportunity to spiffy him up. We dressed him in the Theory stretch wool suit we bought him last year (one of his only two suits), which he wore for the second time ever. Under it he wore his Prada white stretch cotton shirt (pricey, but a great investment, perfect fit) and a simple J. Crew tie that we picked up on a recent trip to the outlet. He looked so good he got the job, now he just has to put in his notice…

Look of the Day

from left:  Bird Stars V Neck, from Urban Outfitters, Otis Stretch Cigarette Leg Jeans by Joe’s Jeans, Navy ‘On Our Way’ Tunic Cardigan by Joie, Totally Turnlock Mini Quinn Bag by Marc by Marc Jacobs, Reva Ballerina Flat by Tory Burch, and Beaded Chain Necklace from Forever 21.

Today was a lazy Monday for me, so I went for a more dressed down look. I’m a big fan of V-necks, loose fitting or not, and Urban Outfitters always has some great designs. I’ve also been a big fan of Marc by Marc Jacobs purses the last couple of seasons and have managed to scoop up a few, so I went for the pretty purple bag and I opted for comfy Tory Burch flat to complement my great dark wash Joe’s jeans. I finished the look off with a simple chain necklace. Simple outfit for a simple day.

Rachel Bilson Launches Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans

I love Rachel Bilson’s sense of style, I’d say that about 90% of the time I would take the clothes off her back and wear them myself, but do I love her enough to buy her designs? Nowadays it seems like every other celebrity is coming out with their own fashion line, which to me is pretty ridiculous. Says Rachel:

I want people to see these clothes for what they are, not just another line designed by another celebrity, I want the line to be taken seriously.”

After checking out the website, I’d say Rachel’s done well. I love that she actually wore some of her designs in her androgynous look while promoting the line

Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans will be sold for $19.50 and $49.50 per piece at department stores including Macy’s, Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom.

Designers for Obama

With presidential voting coming up in about five weeks, everyone has their mind on politics, apparently including fashion designers.

Designers like Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Tory Burch, Nanette Lepore, Rachel Roy, Derek Lam, and Diane von Furstenberg have designed some great merchandise for Obama’s official online store

I wonder if any designers are supporting McCain these days…
